TRP (Tree Root Protection)
With urbanisation taking place all over the UK, roads and motorways are increasingly being built alongside protected trees, or areas with Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs). While much of what we see from a tree (i.e. the trunk, its branches and leaves) must often be left as-is, the roots can interfere with nearby tarmac, and vice versa, vehicular traffic over tarmac can interfere with tree roots and negatively affect the health of protected, mature trees.
Core’s Tree Root Protection (TRP) system is a fully-guaranteed membrane system that requires no digging, is fully CE-certified, and protects trees from the soil compaction resulting from pedestrian and/or vehicular traffic on adjacent roads.
Domestic Applications for Tree Root Protection
Domestic property owners with one or more trees located on the property can find great value in the use of Core’s TRP system on any walking paths or driveways located on the property.
The presence of heavy foot/vehicular traffic over surfaces near the tree can negatively impact the permeation of water and other necessary minerals and nutrients for the roots, so installing a TRP system enables regular use of the surface whilst allowing the tree roots to ‘breathe’ and remain healthy.
Commercial Applications for Tree Root Protection
Commercial properties with trees located on the property and heavy foot or vehicular traffic have an enormous incentive to invest in the Core TRP system. Repeated traffic over particular areas near the tree(s) can lead to soil compaction which can subsequently interfere with the tree roots’ ability to freely exchange water and nutrients.
